James Spader show 'Blacklist' gets full-season order from NBC
LOS ANGELES, Oct. 4 () -- NBC said Friday it has ordered an additional nine episodes of its Washington-set drama "The Blacklist" for a 22-episode, full-season commitment. The announcement was made by Jennifer Salke, president of NBC Entertainment."The many layers of Red Reddington and his mysterious reasons for getting into bed with the FBI seem to be fascinating to fans of this show," Salke said in a statement. "With great talent like James Spader and Megan Boone on board, as well as our stellar executive producers and the whole cast and crew, we believe this outstanding series will continue to make NBC a big destination on Monday nights."In the show, Spader plays Red Reddington, a fugitive on the FBI's Most Wanted list who mysteriously surrenders and begins working with federal investigators to catch a "blacklist" of politicians, mobsters, spies and international terrorists under the condition he speaks only to Elizabeth Keen, an FBI profiler fresh out of Quantico, played by Megan Boone, a synopsis said.
