NEW GLASGOW - Pictou County residents are being warned not to approach a man involved in two robberies and a break-in over a two-hour period Monday night and early Tuesday morning,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
Police are considering the man "armed and dangerous" says Const. Monday,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], when a male suspect armed with a knife demanded an undisclosed amount of cash at the Irving Mainway in Plymouth.
According to Const. Shane Foster with the Pictou County District RCMP,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the suspect was a clean-shaven Caucasian man between 21 and 25 years of age. He was wearing blue jeans,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], a baggie blue T-shirt,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], a blue camouflage-style baseball hat and white sneakers. Tuesday,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], he tried to break into the CO-OP gas bar on Marsh Street. A loud alarm began to sound when he broke the glass,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but the man fled the area before police arrived.
MacDonald says the female clerk "did everything right and remained very calm" during the robbery, notifying police after the man fled the scene.
The man was described by witnesses in that incident as a Caucasian male in his early 20s,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], who was approximately five-foot-nine and weighs about 140 lbs. He was clean-shaven and has a slim build.
The New Glasgow Police Service K-9 unit was called to the scene shortly after the robbery at the Needs,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but could not track down the man. It's not known whether he left the scene on foot or by car.
