Ahh yes, parents, we ran into Mark and Irene in Keremeos at a fruit stand. Small world! They say hello and congrats on the wedding.
(I not sure if I told you this bit, but I will repeat it as it is a rather good bit). Jordon and I ended up meeting a nice chap who said we could sleep on his lawn which just so happened to be on the Okanagan Lake! We were excited and exhausted after riding 130 km in the heat and not having an idea of where to sleep (we were eying an empty lot on the highway).
Anyways,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], a generous fellow. I stayed up and he talked to me of riots in Detroit in 1969, his hobby of singing Cantonese,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and experiences of racism (he was Caucasian). Interesting indeed. Around 12:30 or so I went to sleep. however we were attacked by Sprinklers (They do deserve a capital as I believe they were hunting us). We were defenseless (our tent flys were down). I jumped out of my tent,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], tried to wake Jordon. I slipped,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], stumbled,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], fell to the ground. A scrawny boy in underwear with funny tanlines scrambling all over the yard trying to smother these hidden sprinklers.
Jordon was utterly confused as he had been sleeping for some time longer and ended up standing,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], naked, half wrapped in a sleeping bag watching me trying to figure out what was going on. Getting hit by cold invisible water is not pleasant. The air was filled with uncontrollable laughter,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], then curses, then yelling, then laughter. We smothered them then dried ourselves off,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], moved our tents,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and went to sleep again,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], damp. Wham! Half an hour later we were surrounded by different sprinklers! This time we recovered quickly.
The next morning the yard was a disaster. Cushions,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], pots, clothes,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], bags, wet clothes and shoes everywhere. The nice gent made us eggies and pancakes.
