Second most productive manufacturing state shows growth in January
DALLAS, Jan. 28 () -- The Dallas Federal Reserve Bank said the pace of growth in Texas manufacturing production rose sharply in January.The business production index for the state jumped from 3.5 to 12.9 which indicates faster growth in manufacturing. The general business activity index rose from 2.5 to 5.5. The employment index climbed from less than zero to 8.7, as 20 percent of employers indicated they were hiring while 11 percent indicated they were laying off workers.
