Popeyes offers new chicken meal inspired by jazz musicians
NEW ORLEANS,louboutin men, July 30 () -- Fast-food chain Popeyes is set to offer a new chicken meal inspired by the dietary habits of jazz musicians in Los Angeles in the 1930s to 1950s, officials say.The limited-time Chicken Waffle Tenders -- boneless chicken strips with a waffle batter, served with a honey maple dipping sauce -- was inspired by a restaurants where jazz musicians stopped in for a bite to eat after they gig was done. Too late for dinner and too early for breakfast, the restaurant dipped pieces of chicken in waffle batter and deep-fat fried it and served it in the wee hours. "Chicken and waffles is an incredibly trendy, popular and kind of unexpected (product) right now," Dick Lynch, chief global brand officer at Popeyes, told AdvertisingAge. The meal of three chicken tenders fried in waffle batter, with French Fries, a biscuit and honey-maple dipping sauce for $4.99 is scheduled to appear this week at Popeyes for a limited time. The new item is off-brand for Popeyes because its origins are not traced back to New Orleans or Louisiana, michael kors outlet online, but Lynch said jazz was close enough. "Jazz is so embedded in the culture of New Orleans that we didn't have to look too hard to find" a connection, Lynch said. "We're looking to real culinary trends, no matter where they came from. The odder the better, frankly."
