U.S. Navy contracts Kongsberg Gruppen subsidiary for weapons system
KONGSBERG, Norway, April 30 () -- The U.S. subsidiary of Norway's Kongsberg Gruppen has received a U.S. Navy order for its M153 Common Remotely Operated Weapon Station.The marinized CROW, for the Navy's remotely operated Stabilized Small Arm Mount weapon systems program, will be produced by Kongsberg Protech Systems of Pennsylvania.The M153 will enable sailors to operate sensors and weaponry from inside a vessel instead of from open positions."The marinized version of the Protector M153 CROWS is a platform that takes all of the lessons from years of combat service in Iraq and Afghanistan with the land forces and brings them to the U.S. Navy,[url=http://www.christianelouboutinoutlet.com]Christian Louboutin Discount[/url]," said Rune Johannessen, vice president of Business Development, North America, for Kongsberg Protech Systems."The system increases engagement effectiveness and offers unmatched deployment flexibility across platforms and in any environment."The system for the Navy offers the same capabilities as those deployed with around the world, the company said.
