Actress Katrina Kaif looked a classic bride within an ivory and gold lehenga-choli as she walked the ramp because the showstopper for Bollywood's favourite designer Manish Malhotra on the fourth day's the PCJ Delhi Couture Week.
"I love wearing Indian clothes. Manish, on his part, said, "Katrina is beautiful and she or he looks gorgeous in Indian clothes. Then when I figured of this collection, I'd just her in mind like a showstopper." The designs comprised of flowy bridal outfits in very 60s pinks and oranges and Manish's favourite - ivory. The styles and silhouettes were inspired in the 50s and 60s scenario in India and Pakistan.
"This was the preview of my autumn winter 2012 collection. I've drawn inspiration from the classic styles of 50's and 60's of India. A brief two and a half minute film directed by the designer himself was shown at the outset of the show. The designs were enhanced with tilla work from Kashmir and antique zardosi embroidery. Thread, tilla and zari work were used heavily about the garments.
