A couple appeared in the court charged with benefit fraud following a crackdown.

The court heard that an investigation says a number of people had lived at the address between 2008 and 2012, but Picton-Clark had not reported this towards the council.
He avoided paying in council tax and has now made arrangements to repay the money.

The court heard that in May 2011 Smalley had told the council that they could be vacating her property and leaving it empty of furnishings to visit Spain.
