Jason Kidd brings back the Nike Zoom Flight Five against the Thunder in OKC,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]
It's hard for the kids to think about Jason Kidd as being a freakishly strong but quick point guard,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but for those who grew up watching basketball in the 90s,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], he was a sight to see,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], as anybody with Internet access can easily bring up a Youtube clip of Kidd during his first stint with the Dallas Mavericks. And now that he is several years into his second run with the Mavs,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], this time with a championship to show for it,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], I can understand why most people make old man Kidd jokes nowadays. He is still crafty and as smart as he ever was,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but he lacks the explosiveness and ability to play defense as he once could.
During his earlier years,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Kidd was one of the tops guys on Nike's second string of signature athletes behind the likes of Michael Jordan and Penny Hardaway. Seeing the potential there back in the early 90s - and probably also because they couldn't sign Grant Hill - Nike was quick to bring Jason Kidd along as part of their next generation of basketball stars,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], even making him the focal point of one of the brand's most iconic commercials.
Why is this all relevant? Because as far as most people know by now,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Jason Kidd is one of the signature atheletes of PEAK,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], a Chinese company. He already has several shoes for the company,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], including that was was just recently revealed,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], so it was weird to see Kidd bring out his old signature shoe for Nike,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the Nike Air Zoom Flight Five. Could this be a weird parallel to the NBA players (and Kenyon Martin) that are stuck in China and want out? Nahhh.
Oh,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and Kevin Durant was wearing the Nike Zoom KD IV White/Blue version which some people have taken to calling the "Mavericks" colorway. Interesting, but here is a short of players rocking Nikes.
