But now the glittering romance of actress Uma Thurman and billionaire Arpad "Arki" Busson is over. They called off their wedding,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], planned for mid 2010, a month ago but the news only hit headlines last week,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], leaving many questioning what went wrong.

Arki, the father of Elle Macpherson's two sons (Flynn,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], 11, and Cy, 6) was adamant he did not want any more children. But Uma, who has daughter Maya,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], 11,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and son Levon,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], 7, from her marriage to Ethan Hawke, was keen to have more.
Their jetsetting may have looked glamorous but it masked a huge problem. With Elle and the boys in London,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Arki was committed to living there, while Uma's custody agreement with Ethan meant she had to stay in the US. Even with the wedding invitations ordered and a guest list drawn up,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the couple had failed to resolve the situation.

Friends say Uma, 39, also began to see a different side to Arki recently. They say he started to put pressure on her to stop acting and demanded more and more of her attention.
"Arki expected her to fly to see him in London at the drop of a hat,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and when he came to New York he wanted her children to be with a nanny so she could focus on him," says a friend.
"He wanted everything just so she would have to get a personal chef to cook them dinner at home, ensure his laundry was done perfectly, his every whim catered for.
