jordan pas cher How To Opt Out Of The Rat Race And |
|
Sailing around Corfu has been an amazing experience so far.
We get up, have a jordan pas cher dive in the pristine waters of the Ionian Sea to wake ourselves up, have a shower at the back of the boat, then have some breakfast.
We go scuba diving… we fish… we read a book… have a nap on the beach…
We hollister france then sail to another bay, island, or woolrich parka port, and sometimes go to hollister shore for supplies or a meal at a local tavern.
In the evenings hollister sale we watch a bit of stand-up comedy on a laptop, have a gin & tonic drink,
Swap stories, and watch shooting stars in barbour uk outlet the sky above.
I am amazed at how many yachts and sailing boats we encounter at each port, and I'm surprised to find that many people are 'live-aboard, i.e. They live on their boats all year round!
I am also amazed at how cheap this way of life is, all things considered.
No bills, no taxes, no rent to pay… your boat is powered by the wind and solar energy…
Your costs are mainly fuel (approximately 120 Euros a month), food, and mooring in a marina in the winter. And of course there's the maintenance of the boat.
I want to share with you the story of Bill and Laurel Cooper, well known amongst the 'live-board community.
In the mid-1970s Bill Cooper was working as a broker in the City of London, but he became disillusioned with life as a high-flying businessman and decided to give it all up.
"Just cut off. No more stress."
In a recent interview Bill recalls how, on doudoune moncler homme the cheap nike nfl jerseys day he changed the course of his life, he set off for work and was half-way to the train station in Chatham, Kent, when he said to himself…
"I'm not going on today - I'm fed hollister pas cher up with it" '.
"I said to Laurel, "I'm giving up. Tell my partners I'm not coming in hollister co france anymore. Ever."
'Swanning around the City with a top hat on is all very well, but you don't get much pleasure from it and I wanted a bit more from life.'
"Abandoning the rat race and sailing off into the sunset"
The couple sold their home in Chatham, Kent, said farewell to friends and family and set sail from Lowestoft in their 50ft vessel.
They opted out of the rat race and took to the sea for a life of adventure.
As soon as they reached the Mediterranean Mr Cooper said he knew they had made the right decision.
"People think it takes a lot of money. It doesn't, it's a very cheap way of life really."
Bill and Laurel Cooper have travelled more than 100,000 peuterey outlet miles, berthing in 45 different countries. Since it was first published, their book Sell hollister france Up and Sail has become the bible for those cruising as a way of life.
