Customs kiosks take presctiption way at MSP
If you're a flier willing to spend $100 and do a criminal record check,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], there's a good chance you can bypass them.
The Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport will soon have kiosks that will allow international travelers to scan their passport, answer a few questions, input their fingerprints and become on their way.
The machines are a part of Global Entry,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], a new Customs and Border Protection program that seeks to expedite the safety clearance process for low-risk travelers. airports and will also be debuting at MSP by summer.

So far, 256,911 travelers nationwide have registered for the program, said Cherise Miles, a Customs spokeswoman. Once these cities are added,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the program is going to be open to 97 percent of international travelers.
To join,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], fliers must pay a $100 application fee and agree to a rigorous background check and interview. Travelers should also provide their fingerprints for the system to have on record when they sign in in a kiosk.
Matt Kucharski,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], 44, recently joined this program and said he's getting excited about bypassing long lines at Customs,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], which can sometimes take more than 45 minutes.
"Anything you can do to lessen the strain of travel, I'm all for,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]," the Minneapolis communications executive said.
Those approved for Global Entry will even qualify for TSA PreCheck, which launched now at MSP. The Transportation Security Administration program lets fliers clear security with no hassles of removing their shoes, jackets and belts.
