SYRACUSE, N.Y., Feb. 20 () -- C.J. Fair and James Southerland led a hot shooting effort Wednesday that carried No. 8 Syracuse to an 84-59 pummeling of Providence.It was the 38th straight home win for the Orange, the longest current streak in major college basketball.Both Fair and Southerland scored 20 points while Syracuse shot 58 percent as a team. The Orange limited Providence to 16 points during the first half and built a 27-point lead.Providence had won four in a row, a stretch that included victories over Cincinnati and Notre Dame.Michael Carter-Williams added 15 points and 12 assists for Syracuse (22-4, 10-3 Big East), a winner of four of its last five games.The Friars (14-12, 6-8) were paced by LaDontae Henton and Vincent Council with 15 points each.
