"It's not ideal,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but certainly I'll do my best to work as a representative and overcome that," she said.
In October 2011, Franks pleaded guilty to 10 counts of failing to furnish taxationapproved forms between 2001 and 2010.
One month later, prosecutors alleged she owed $21,518.79 to the Australian Taxation Office.
Franks disputed that sum and successfully applied to withdraw her guilty pleas, leading to a trial.
"Given my personal situation,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], I understand that I could have legitimately requested an extension of time to get my affairs in order and I regret not being aware of this provision,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]," she said at the time.
